Recently, I just got done finishing watching The Witcher and was pleasantly surprise by the show. Having played the video games religiously, I was very excited for the show but was also on the side of caution as live action adaptations for video games didn't always go well. Movies like Mortal Kombat, World of Warcraft, or even Assassins Creed didn't live up to the games or really the fans expectations. The film industry has been trying for decades to crack the code of live action video game adaptations and I believe they did just that with The Witcher. Of course the show isn't perfect but does a lot of things right in the first season to which they can grow upon in the next one.

First things first is that the cast in great from head to toe, especially Henry Cavill's performance of Geralt. The whole cast as a whole helps bring life to their characters from the games and books and makes each scene exciting to watch. Next is the plot which is confusing at first even coming from someone who played the games before but they do right the ship eventually towards the end of the season which makes for smoother sailing of the plot. The fighting scenes are great as well and keeps you glued to the screen with each swipe of the blade. Even the comedy is fantastic which helps balance the darker moments of the show.

I feel the only gripes I have with this show is it's slow take off, confusing parts at times, and just failure at times at better explaining The Witcher world but really I'm just being picky. The show did what it needed to do for the first season and that is to make a good foundation for future seasons which I think it did a great job in. It gave us a great plot to follow, great characters to relate to and cheer on, and fight scenes to keep us glued to our seats. The next season is going to be great and if there is anything to go by with Umbrellas Academy's second season then Netflix's next season is going to be a sure fire hit. This has been Revisited, thanks for reading. Ricardo Signing Off
