Today I want to dedicate this Topic of the Week to the late Kobe Bryant, who tragically died in a helicopter crash alongside his daughter and other parents and children. Sunday was a devastating day for not only the sports world but the world in general which showcases how big of a impact Kobe really had on all of us. Not only was he a determined stone cold killer on the basketball court but he was a patron for women's sports, various charities, and the well being of everyone but also a entrepreneur. He lived a full life by many standards even though it was cut short at 41.
Like other people, I find that I would like to share my story of Kobe Bryant. Since I was young, I loved sports and basketball was one of my favorites. I supported the Celtics since I was a kid and there was always this pesky player who wore purple and gold who no matter what you did would score on you. During the high years in the 2008 to 2012 season, we played against the purple and gold Lakers numerous times and every time we did, that 6'6 shooting guard would always pour buckets on us. He was relentless and I hated him for beating the celtics more times than I can count, but I respected him immensely.
I respected him for his determination and his relentless attack. He was not only a great player but one of the best to ever do it. Though now every time I see the new story about that fateful Sunday, I cant help but think there going to just come back and appear out of nowhere. For something so tragic to happen so sudden, it just seems like a nightmare more than a reality. I'm not a praying man but I hope only the best for the families and individuals affected by this tragedy. However, they may be dead but they're legacy will live on forever. This has been the Topic of the Week, thanks for reading. Ricardo signing off.
