For this week, I wanted to go over a quote that I found not only meaningful in the times we are living in but also powerful and rich in the message it gives as it transcends time in giving meaning to anyone who reads it. The quote is from the novel Lord of the Rings and is more so an excerpt rather than a quote but it is meaningful all the same and so here it is. "I wish it need not have happened in my time," said Frodo. "So do I," said Gandalf, "And so do all who live to see such times, but that is not for them to decide. All we have to decide is what to do with the time that is given us."As you read it, you can not only feel the impact of the words spoken but also see how impactful it is even to this very day and beyond. I wanted to talk about this quote because as everybody and their kid has mention that 2020 has been a crazy year and it has. However, what should we do about it?

Yes, 2020 is a crazy year but should we shrug it off and ignore it? This year has highlighted a lot of things that need to be changed if we ever hope to live and build for a better future for not only us but the people who come after us. Global warming, animal conservations, social justice, equality and many more things such as these are being left behind in an act of us pretending to see no evil, speak no evil, and hear no evil as if they are going to make this evil acts around us to disappear. The more we try to shelter ourselves and pretend that this just "isn't our year" is both stupid and gets us no where in our own life as well as pushing the world for a better tomorrow. This is the time that was given to us and many would say it is not the time they wanted but people before us have dealt with way worse and so with this time we shell spend is wisely for if we don't time will not only run out on us but for the world we hold dear. It is time to stop running, stop pretending evil things aren't happening and to do things rather than just talk about. This has been the Topic of the Week, thanks for reading.
