So as you may be aware of for whomever is keeping up with these daily blogs, I have been writing my book at a good pace. Right now, I'm hoping to finish it by November on my birthday no less as a sort of gift to myself. I have been having a joyous time writing recently with ideas pouring out as if someone forgotten to close the tap. At the moment, I've been writing new chapters to sort of fill the book and add more depth to not only the story but the characters as a whole and how they deal with certain situations. Of course it's at a very bare stage right, cookie cutter if you will, and will need another edit for me to really be proud of what I have written but I must say I am proud of how far I have come.
Before at the start of this year I felt very bogged down as did everybody in 2020. I hated my job, there was a global pandemic going on, and I felt like my writing suffered from that and much more. It felt like I was under a microscope and that I was trying to pump my novel through crunch time which is difficult when your trying to write a fantasy novel. Of course I had other ideas which have a more linear storylines for different books which would have taken me way faster to complete but I feel compelled to finish this novel as an ode to my younger self who used to dream up storylines for the very same book in High School classrooms. If there is anything to take from me, it is to take your dreams and go about them carefully as if they were a plant. Some may grow faster than others but with care, your plant, your idea, will flourish. This has been the Weekly Blog, thanks for reading. Ricardo Signing Off
