So since Daft Punk broke up, I've been taking a deep dive in their music library as well as other musicians that I lost connections with or haven't listened to as closely as I wanted to. Life these days like any other days, don't give the time to really sit down and do whatever we want like when we were kids which results in us having to pick what we want to do with our free time very carefully. Take music for example, I make playlists (which are listed on the website to check out if you so desire) that I use now and than to have a quick access to whatever music that suits my mood or ears. I don't really have the time to explore albums nor singles, however, thats changed.
Recently, I haven't been relying on playlists but rather the albums themselves and the storytelling with in them to listen to. Whether that be Daft Punks Discovery, Gorillaz Song Machine, or The Strokes The New Abnormal. Just listening to music is ok but in the end your depriving yourself of the true potential of music. With each song, the artist tells a tale and with an album they tell you a story and one with deep meaning if you give it the time it deserves which I have learned. You have to pay attention to it deeply to get the most out of it. You have to take the time out of the day to just listen and that's it. Thats when you truly appreciate music for what it is. A story not for your eyes but your ears to get lost to. Ricardo Signing Off
