Today is no ordinary Monday for me. It is a Monday I have been looking forward to for this entire year. This Monday of all Mondays of course is my birthday. I feel great almost reinvigorated even. For some reason on the day of your birthday you feel like you could conquer the world or at least jump off a cliff, swim with sharks, or maybe ride a dinosaur with f-ing lasers. The world feels like its in the palm in your hands and that the world is looking at you and only you on the day that you were born. I'm happy that I was born on this day. A day that I mark on my calendar every year. Not only do I cherish spending it with family and friends, but I cherish the journey I took along the way.
The road is never easy and whoever says that is lying to you. I spent many years on this earth and learned a lot. I met numerous people, traveled to different continents and countries, and dealt with numerous hardships. I fell down countless times, but I got up just as many times. Living life is a constant battle with in yourself, a inner battle of needs or wants and good or bad. However, days like today, days like your birthday help remind you that you've done so much. You worked so damn hard to get where you are now and all you can do is smile and appreciate who you are. Appreciate the hardships, the scars on your back, and the memories you have.
Today is my birthday and I can't believe I've been on this earth for this long. Sometimes I think back to younger me and ask if he would be proud of who I became. To be honest, he would be, but he would ask for me to try a little harder. He would ask me to finish my novel, go back to school and get your degree, and finally, to chase my dreams. He would pat me in the back, but let me know theres still room for improvement. So here's to many more birthdays, many more memories on this great floating rock we call Earth. This has been the Weekly Blog, thanks for reading. Ricardo singing off.
